My Food Philosophy: Food should not only nourish our bodies, allowing us to move, think, breath, and live, but it should taste good and be enjoyed. Everyone must eat. Every day we choose what we will put into our bodies to satisfy our cravings for nutrition and to keep ourselves alive. If we can effortlessly make the food choices that will make us happy and keep us healthy, we can live longer and more fulfilling lives.
My Exercise Philosophy: Exercise is a natural high! Research shows a strong connection between activity and happiness, as well as disease prevention and overall better health. From general functionality to training for the next Tour de France, the right exercise and eating lifestyle is needed for optimal results.
About Me: I love and live what I do! My drive and passion in life is to help myself and others become the best, healthiest versions of themselves through food and activity.
I have a bachelors degree from Linfield College in Exercise Science, a masters degree from Tufts University, Friedman School of Nutritional Science and Policy in Food Policy and Applied Nutrition, and I am a Registered Dietitian.
My work background includes nutrition and fitness coaching, counseling and education, in clinical, public health, and private settings among a variety of age groups. I also serve as a board member and am actively involved with the High Desert Food & Farm Alliance.
I spend my free time experimenting in the kitchen, engaging in all sorts of outdoor recreation, getting sweaty with HIIT workouts, keeping up on the latest nutrition news and supporting our local food system.
